Pat died Wednesday, July 18th of complications from Scleroderma and Pulmonary Veno Occlusive Disease (PVOD).

She is survived by sons Joel Harris and his wife, Heidi, of Seattle, and Colby Pearce and his wife, Mari, and daughter, Chloe; a brother, Dr. Robert Holtz, and his wife, Cricket Morgan, and his daughter, Jill and her family in Ireland. She had many friends in the Boulder/Denver area.

Pat was born in Kingman, Ariz., on September 29, 1940, and lived her early years on several Indian Reservations in Arizona and New Mexico. Her family moved to Minnesota in 1955. Pat graduated from St. Louis Park High School in 1958 and the University of Minnesota in 1962 with a BS degree in Nursery, Kindergarten, and Primary Education, having been active in her sorority, Kappa Delta. She taught in Oregon, Minnesota and Colorado. She graduated from the University of Colorado at Denver in 1981 with an MA in Interior Architecture and Space Planning.

Pat and her husband John W. Harris moved to Boulder Heights in 1968, and had their son, Joel, in 1970. They divorced in 1977 and Pat moved to Boulder at that time. She adopted Colby as her second son in 1987. She worked as a Facilities Manager for several high-tech companies in the area and was Director of Facilities at UCAR from 1990-1998. She ended her work career with Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, retiring in 2006.

Pat was active in Trinity Lutheran Church (most recently as Chairperson for the Trinity Commons Project) and other non-profit activities as well as social groups. She was an avid skier and tennis player. She enjoyed gardening and playing bridge.
A memorial service to celebrate Pat's life will be held at 4:00 p.m., Friday, July 27th, at Trinity Lutheran church, 2200 Broadway, Boulder.
