John was born in Hamlet, NC and relocated to Jacksonville FL during his long career with CSX transportation. John is survived by his 5 children. Wayne Abernathy (Teresa), Valerie Sadler (Gary), Pam Cloys, Kim Pera (Andrew), and Rudi Butcher. He is also survived by his 11 loving grandchildren, Michelle Bruce, Kimberly Sadler, Robbie Abernathy, Ashley Chafin, Brandy Abernathy, Alexis Pera, Lindsay Cloys, Ian Pera, Aidan Cloys, and twin boys Ashton and Austin Cloys as well as many other loved ones.
