CARMELA D. TOTO BINION

LORDSTOWN – Carmela D. Toto Binion, 93, died at 9:40 p.m. on Friday, March 10, 2017, at St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center.

She was born May 4, 1923, in Youngstown, the daughter of Guiseppe and Laura Petrosinni Mele.

She was a 1941 graduate of The Rayen School, employed at Murphy’s 5 and 10, Annette’s Beauty Shop, and a press operator at Ohio Leatherworks. She was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church in Niles, Niles Moose and Girard Auxiliary, where she held various offices including past president, and enjoyed sewing, baking, and dancing.

Her first husband, Anthony J. Toto, whom she married Jan. 6, 1945, died on Jan. 8, 1992.

She will be deeply missed by her husband, Russell Binion Sr., whom she married Oct. 10, 2001; two sons, Vincent Toto of Niles and Anthony Toto of Mesa, Ariz.; two stepsons, Russell Binion and his wife, Dixie and Arthur Binion; a stepdaughter, Faye Davis; four grandchildren, Joseph Toto and his wife, Kelly, Erica Krispinsky and her husband, Brian, Michael Toto and Adrian Toto; and four great-grandchildren, Steven, Jade, Vincent, and Angelina.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, Patrick Mele, Nick Mele, Anthony Mele, and William Mele; and three sisters, Victoria Ignazio, Minnie Tondo, and Anna Zitello.

Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, at the Joseph Rossi & Sons Funeral Home in Niles. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be at St. Stephen Cemetery.

Arrangements are being handled by the Joseph Rossi & Sons Funeral Home.
