George Andrew Zurenda, 79, passed away restfully on Monday, March 06, 2017.

He is survived by his children, Georgianna, George Michael, Elle and the mother of his children, Lita; siblings John (Judy), William (Pat), Robert (Marie), Margie Wehman, and sister-in-law Carol, aunt Irene; and many nieces and nephews.

George was a devoted father and proud US Marine Corps Veteran, who served in Vietnam and Purple Heart recipient. He was a member of VFW Post 1611. He is an alumnae and former basketball standout at Broome Tech and Lamar University.

He is reunited with his mother and father Michael and Anna Skojec Zurenda; siblings Paul, Michael, Stephen, August, Joseph, Peter, James, Jerome and Maryann Hawe.

The Memorial Service will be held on Saturday March 11, 2017 at 11 am, Christ Episcopal Church 10 Henry St Binghamton, NY 13901. There will be a small gathering for family and friends after the service. Burial will be later at the convenience of the family.
