Bonnie Mae Tucker, age 70 passed away on Saturday June 25th 2016 in her home in rural Barnesville under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.

Bonnie was born May 29th 1946 at St. Ansgar’s Hospital Moorhead, MN to Kenneth and Helen (McEvers) Christensen. She grew up on the Family farm in Alliance Township west of Barnesville and graduated from Barnesville High School in 1964.

After High school, Bonnie moved to Duluth, MN where she received CNA training and worked at a local hospital in Duluth. She also worked at St. Ansgar’s Hospital in Moorhead after returning to the area.

Bonnie married Wayne Tucker at St. James United Church of Christ in Barnesville on October 30th, 1971.They made their home on a farm north of Barnesville where she was a homemaker and busy farm wife. She enjoyed helping her parents on the family farm during potato harvest, riding on the harvester.

Bonnie was an avid bowler for more than 40 years, competing in several state and national tournaments. Bonnie took her one and only airplane trip to Reno, NV where she competed in the WIBC championship Bowling Tournament in 2000.

Bonnie was a member of St. James United Church of Christ, she served in the Women’s Guild and also served on the Diaconate Board. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, and Rollag Steam Threshers Reunion.

Bonnie always thought that family and friends were very important to her. She enjoyed spending time at the family cottage on Lake Lizzie near Pelican Rapids, MN where there was much laughing, cooking and card playing.

Bonnie is survived by her husband Wayne; 2 daughters: Deanna (Jerrod) Ingebretson; La Rae (Shane) Gott; and one son Darrin (Ashley) Tucker; 5 grandchildren: Tyler and Trevor Nelson; Elijah Gott; and Wyatt and Ella Tucker; one brother Wesley (Etta Mae) Christensen; and sister-in-law Janice Christensen. Also surviving Bonnie are several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; 4 brothers: Marshall; Harold; Lester and Frank; and sister and brother-in-law Helene (Roger) Balgaard.

Visitation will be at Dobmeier Funeral Home, Barnesville on Tuesday, June 28th 5-7 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.

Funeral Service will be at St. James United Church of Christ in Barnesville, MN on Wednesday, June 29th at 11:00 a.m.
