Hiram R. Tidmore, son of David and Mary Clary Tidmore, was probably born in South Carolina because his parents married there around 1825 and in 1833 were still living in Pickens County,South Carolina. By 1836 his parents had relocated to Greene County, Alabama.

Hiram married Elizabeth C. "Betty" Prisoc, daughter of Adam and Mary Richardson Prisoc, on April 12 1855 in Greene County, Alabama. They had at least four children: Adam Wesley, and unnamed infant son, Hiram Jefferson and Mary Elizabeth.

In 1860 the young family are living in Havana, Hale County, AL:

Infant Tidmore, 7/12, born AL

However, in 1870, only Elizabeth and her 3 children are enumerated in Hale Co. AL:

Adam W. son age 12 born AL
Hiram J. son age 8 born AL
Mary E. daughter age 6 born AL

At this time, it is unknown if Hiram died in the Civil War or after.
