Rachel Elizabeth “Beth” Hollandsworth King, 88, of Loving Hands Adult Care, 402 Airport Road in Bluefield, WV, entered into the presence of the Lord on Monday, May 4th, 2015. She was born September 14th, 1926 in Princeton, WV. She was the daughter of the late Guy Melvin and Lillian Chambers Hollandsworth of Welch, WV. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, James W. “Jack” King, brother James Hollandsworth of Huntington, WV and wife Marjie, brother Bill Hollandsworth and wife Janice of St. Louis, MO, sister Anna Sue and husband Gene Powers of Homewood, IL, sister Fay and husband Fred Brown of Homewood, IL, brother Luther and wife Mary Hollandsworth of Durham, NC. She is survived by her daughter, (Names deleted) of Eden, NC, son (Names deleted) of Princeton, WV, daughter (Names deleted) of Princeton, WV, daughter (Names deleted) of Wichita, KS, daughter (Names deleted) of Fuquay Varina, NC, 15 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and nieces & nephews. Mrs. King was raised in Welch, WV where she graduated from Welch High School. She received a Master’s degree in home economics from Marshall University. She retired from the West Virginia State Department of Education in School Food Service. he was a member of Johnston Chapel Baptist Church on Halls Ridge Road in Princeton, WV for 54 years where she served in the adult choir and music ministry and was a member of the DMA “Don’t Mention Age” Senior Citizen’s Fellowship of Johnston Chapel. A service of celebration of her life will be held on Friday, May 8th at 11:00 AM at Johnston Chapel Baptist Church on Halls Ridge Road in Princeton, WV with her son, Pastor John King, son-in-law Pastor Bob Trogdon and son-in-law Pastor Jimmy Elliott officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be grandsons Matt Elliott and Andrew Moore, grandsons-in-law Matthew Miller, B. J. Erps and Jon Martin, sons-in-law Bob Wilkerson and Gary Moore and great-grandson Daniel Miller. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens on Courthouse Road in Princeton. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Directory on Athens Road in Princeton. In lieu in flowers, memorial gifts of love may be given to Johnston Chapel Baptist Church at 984 Halls Ridge Road, Princeton, WV, 24739 for Dr. Miriam Wheeler’s medical ministry in Ukraine. The King family is being served by the Memorial Funeral Directory and Cremation Center on the Athens Road in Princeton.
