JUDITH KATHRYN SMITH, 61, of Lebanon went home to be with the Lord on Thursday January 25, 2007 at her home.
Judy was born April 20, 1945 in Grand Island, Nebraska the daughter of William and Edna (Hansen) Mann. She moved with her family to Portland, Oregon at the age of seven. She attended her schooling in Portland and graduated from Franklin High School in 1963. She Married Douglas Smith in Portland on March 27, 1965. She moved to Lebanon in 1976 where she has resided until her death. Judy worked as a Certified Nurses Aid at the Lebanon Community Hospital for four years, Fairview Training Center in Salem for twelve years and Lydia's House (Albany Mennonite Home) for a short time.
Mrs. Smith was a member of the Sodaville Evangelical Church. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, making quilts (especially baby quilts) and reading. She loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren and loved going to the Oregon Coast.
She is survived by her husband, Douglas of Lebanon, two daughters, Paulette Bettenga of Hanover, Michigan, Bethany Smith of Lebanon, son, Joel Smith of Sacramento, CA and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by an infant son Gerald A. Smith.
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday January 30 at the Huston-Jost Funeral Home. A Private interment will be in Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.
