Mrs. Andrews was born August 10, 1931, in Bellflower, Missouri, a daughter of Henry Virgil and Pauline Elizabeth (Fort) Cope.
She was a 1949 graduate of Montgomery County R-II High School.
On October 12, 1954, in Hermann, Missouri, she married Charles Dewitt Andrews. They celebrated over 62 years together and were the parents of 2 sons. Martha Lou and Charlie have lived in Buell all of their married life.
Prior to her marriage, Martha Lou had worked as a secretary at Lewton Truck Lines in Mexico as well as the drug store in Mexico. Martha Lou was co-owner of Dewitt Auto Sales in Buell with her husband, Charlie.
Martha Lou enjoyed gardening, mowing and fishing. She was a great cook and everyone loved her vegetable soup. Martha Lou loved watching the birds, with hummingbirds being her favorite. She was an avid collector of Boyd bears.
Martha Lou is survived by her husband, Charles Dewitt Andrews, of the home in Buell; sons and daughters-in-law, Michael Charles and Angela Rose (Shramek) Andrews, of Middletown and Jeffrey Brent and Rose Luanne (Hendricks) Andrews, of Buell; five grandchildren, Gregory Michael and Morgan Danielle (Hauk) Andrews, of Moscow Mills, Bethany Michelle Andrews, of Topeka, Kansas, Emily Rose Andrews, of Middletown, Jacob Brent Andrews and Jared Boyd Andrews, of Buell; great-grandson, Landon Wayne Dewitt Andrews, of Montgomery City; sister-in-law, Leona Elizabeth Cope, of Martinsburg; in addition to several nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Roy Donald Cope.
Funeral services were held at 12:00 noon, Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at the Myers Funeral Home in Wellsville. Rev. Kim Boone officiated.
Burial was in Bellflower Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Greg Andrews, Jake Andrews, Jared Andrews, Brian Clark, Ken Coil and Steve Davis. Honorary pallbearers were Bethany Andrews, Emily Andrews, Floyd Andrews, Dale Davis and Bob Woodson.
Visitation was held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service, Wednesday, at the funeral home.
