Anna Mae Carpenter

Carpenter, Anna Mae, age 88, of Beavercreek, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 10, 2017, at her residence.
She was born in Glouster, OH on May 6, 1928, the daughter of Virgil and Freda (Stolze) Strohmeyer, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 48 years, David D. Carpenter in 1996, her brother, Virgil Strohmeyer, Jr and her sister, Dorothy Smathers.
Anna is survived by her 4 children, Debbie Witt, David and wife, Connie Carpenter, John Carpenter and Kris Carpenter; her grandchildren, Michael and wife, Mindy Witt, Heather Witt, Jenny Carpenter, Kenneth and wife, Brittany Carpenter, Charles and wife, Lucy Carpenter and Maddie Carpenter; great grandchildren, Austin Witt, Connor Saxton, Owen and Noah John Witt, Kaleb Carpenter and Kinsley Thomas. She is also survived by other relatives and friends.
After graduating from high school , Anna came to Dayton in 1946 and was employed at Wright- Patterson , where she met her husband, David. She was retired from Beavercreek Public Schools and was an avid Bingo player. Anna and her sister Dorothy loved going to the casino together, where they enjoyed playing the slots.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 16, 2017, at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-BEAVERCREEK CHAPEL, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Road at Grange Hall Road with Reverend Bobbie Predmore officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday. Private interment will be held at the convenience of the family in Valley View Memorial Gardens. If desired, contributions may be made to the in memory of Anna.
