William (Wilhelm) came to Canada with his parents from Nebraska in 1900. In 1918 he married Elizabeth Molter. They farmed in the Clyde district, southeast of Rhein. In 1937 William purchased the SW-25-27-2-W2, one mile east of Rhein.

William took pride in his horses, and showed them at the Rhein Fair and Yorkton Exhibition. He retired from farming in 1947 and moved into Rhein, just west of the Grand Hall. He took pride in his gardening and flowers. He was a trustee for Clyde School, a councillor for the RM of Wallace for 20 years, and served on the Rhein village council for 17 years. William passed away in 1977, and Elizabeth in 1986.

William and Elizabeth had five children: Elsie (1918-1983), Walter (1920 - 2012), Helen, Herbert (1924-1925), and Harold (born in 1927).
