Death Takes Railroad Man

Everett Samuel Bullock, 71, retired railroad engineer, died at a Portland hospital Wednesday after a month’s illness.

Funeral services will be held at the Edward Holman Son chapel Friday at 2:30 P. M. under auspices of Washington Masonic lodge, and final rites will be at Portland crematorium.

Mr. Bullock was born in Fremont, Neb., November 26, 1869, the son of the late Judge S. Bullock, and was a resident of Portland since 1877.

First Train Piloted

He served as engineer for several railroad companies and piloted the first Oregon Electric train into Eugene. He retired in 1937.

He held membership in the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers, Washington Masonic lodge, Scottish Rite and Al Kader temple.

Survivors include a daughter, Mary Bullock of Portland; a son, Hazzard, of Grants Pass; three sisters, Mrs. Joseph W. Beveridge and Mrs. U. G. Shipley, both of Salem, and Mrs. L. A. Harlow of Troutdale, and a nephew, Sam C. Bullock of Portland.
