Harry was born on Aug. 9, 1950 in Danville, the son of Harry Robert and Helen Elizabeth (Lamb) Powell. He married Natalie Stuebe on March 4, 1980 in Danville and she survives.
Survivors also include five children, Joe (Tammy) Benson, Kevin (Donnette) Benson, Rob (Lacy) Powell, Tammy (Ronnie) Moore and Tina (Rob) Johnson; four siblings, Rick (Elaine) Powell, Dorothy (Harry) Johnson, Diane (Randy) Brooks and Sandy (Scott) Dowers; three brothers-in-law and their spouses; 14 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
Harry was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, baby Jackie and Linda.
Harry served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War from 1969 to 1970. He was an avid bowler and bowled for many years at the 300 Room, Lincoln Lanes, Bulans Bowl and other area bowling alleys. He was awarded Lifetime Dedication to Bowling by the Danville Area Bowling Association during the 2010 - 2011 year. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing, as well as played and umpired softball for many years.
