She was born on May 20, 1949, in Salinas, Kan., and moved here in 1975. Suzette worked for the Okaloosa County School Board at Southside Elementary School for 15 years. She was a charter member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Suzette is preceded in death by her father, Eugene Steen.
She is survived by her husband, John Walker of Crestview; son, Eric Walker and wife Shelley of Birmingham, Ala.; daughters, Deena Goedge and husband Eric of Crestview and Emily Richards and husband Chuck of Shorter, Ala.; mother, Ruth Steen of Panama City; brothers, Richard Steen of Panama City and Jeff Steen and wife Cheryl of Lynn Haven; grandchildren, Vanessa, Peirce, and Juliette Walker and Faith and Lauren Goedge.
A time of visitation will be held Monday, Jan. 29, from 6 to 8 pm at Emmanuel Baptist Church.
The funeral will take place Tuesday, Jan. 30, at 2 p.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church with the Revs. Mark Seagle and Mark McClard officiating. Burial will follow at Old Bethel Cemetery.
A special thanks to 21st Century Oncology and Covenant Hospice. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Emmanuel Baptist Church building fund.
