Leo Daugherty was born in to the large family of Roy and Oma Greer Daugherty. He was born and raised on Greer Road and attended school there. During childhood he lost an eye to disease and ever after wore an eye patch. He owned a farm on ancestral land on Greer Rd., Mason Co. West Virginia. Leo loved the land he called home. He had a special gift with all types of animals, especially his mules. He followed in the footsteps of his father, Roy Daugherty and worked on the railroad. Leo enjoyed the railroad life and recounted many stories of the early days. His ability to communicate his wisdom, knowledge, life experiences and good humor was amazing to the end of his long life. Friends, family and neighbors were welcome to visit the home of Leo and Betty Daugherty anytime. Conversation was always enjoyable there!Two children were born to Leo and Alice Daugherty. His son, daughter, their spouses and several grandchildren survive. Many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends will honor the memory of Leo Daugherty as well.( bio by cousin Ginger Thrush)
