Dr. Claude R. Miller, Jr, resident of Athens, Georgia, born June 26, 1941 in Augusta, Georgia passed away with his family by his side on March 10, 2017. He was the son of the late Vera Horne Miller and the late Claude Roger Miller, Sr. of Augusta, GA.

After graduating high school from Richmond Academy in 1959, Claude joined the US Air Force. After completing his military service, in 1965, Claude returned to Augusta College to pursue a degree in Psychology, ultimately transferring to the University of Georgia in 1967, receiving his Ph.D in Psychology from UGA in 1971.

While serving as the Psychology Club President at Augusta College, Claude met the love of his life, Ina H. Miller and they married on June 24, 1967 in Athens, GA.

Claude was a college professor for ten years at various colleges in Georgia, before accepting a position to serve the government of the United States as a civilian GS-14 Operations Research Analyst. He was known to many as a mentor and as the greatest boss ever, as well as loving husband, best dad and doting Opa. Claude loved fly fishing, coin collecting, history, golf, watching college football, antique shopping, and traveling.

He is survived by his loving wife, Ina Hamby Miller of Athens, Georgia; his daughter Rhonda Miller Wicher and husband Scott, of Frisco, Texas; son Claude Roger Miller, III ("Skip") and wife Jennifer of Mena, AR ; granddaughters Kaitlyn and Kassidy; sister Velda Miller Schirhart and husband Gene, of Augusta, GA; his beloved aunt and mentor, Rose M. Jordan of Augusta, GA and other loving relatives including nieces, nephews and cousins.
