Musician. He was a baritone singer for the early rhythm and blues/doo wop musical group, The Silhouettes. They are best remembered for their 1957 hit "Get A Job", which sold over 2 million copies and is still a staple of oldies radio. Beal was born in Philadelphia. He was a prizefighter and served in the US Army during World War II. He left The Silhouettes in 1960 and went into the clothing business, but later performed occasional reunion gigs with his former bandmates.
