Mrs. Walter Miiller nee Nola Verena Honig of Cedar Park formerly of Fredericksburg passed away on Thursday, March 9, 2017, at the age of 92 years.

Nola Verena Honig was born to Dan and Minna Kirchhoff Honig in Harper, Texas on January 15, 1925.

She attended public schools in Harper, Texas. She married the love of her life Walter Christian Miiller on June 28, 1952. They resided in Fredericksburg, Texas for over 60 years

Her loving husband Walter preceded her in death, in July 2002. Also preceding her in death are her parents Dan & Minna Honig, five brothers, William, Simon, Dan, Jr., Alfred and Marvin. Three sisters; Elsie, Minnie and Laura, and her son-in-law Joe Henderson.
Three daughter, Shirley Henderson of Midwest City, Oklahoma, Deborah Ferguson and her husband Worth of Navasota, Texas, Doris Rapp and her husband Gerry of Cedar Park, Texas survive her. Six grandchildren, Terry Henderson, Robert Henderson and daughter in law Lora, Worth “Chris” Ferguson, Lance “Clay” Ferguson and his wife Judi, Jared Rapp and Janae Rapp. Nola also has one great granddaughter Josephine Henderson.

Nola was in every sense of the word “mom”. She shared her love of reading and handwork with her daughters. When her children were young, she was involved in PTA and activities at the Edison Street Methodist Church. She dearly loved her grandchildren and was always willing to spend time with each one of them. Her grandchildren also received the love of reading from their grandmother. Nola was a stay at home mom who baby sat children in her home. She cared for them all with love and Godly values. Nola took great pleasure and joy in working with her plants (especially roses) and gardening. She enjoy listening to Christian music and Christmas hymns.

In the past few years, Nola has resided at New Hope Manor and Rehabilitation Center in Cedar Park, Texas. The residence there were fond of her sweet, sassy, feisty and fun temperament. She was known as the wheel chair race champion with her self-appointed nickname of Puten Tang.

Funeral services for Mrs. Nola Miiller will be held on Monday, March 13th at 10:00 A.M. in the chapel of the Schaetter Funeral Home, Fredericksburg with the Rev. Sid Spiller officiating.

Graveside services and interment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery

In lieu of flowers the family wishes that memorials be given in her memory to the Alzheimer’s Association or to the charity of your choice.

The family will greet friends on Monday, March 13th from 9:00 till 10:00 A.M. in the chapel of the Schaetter Funeral Home, Fredericksburg
