Glenn Richard Young, 79, of Greenwood, Louisiana, passed away on Friday March 3, 2017. Glenn was born the son of Donald D. Young Sr. and Lina Irene Brewster Young, March 2, 1938 in Butler, PA. Glenn was raised in Butler PA, and graduated from high school in 1956. He went on to attend colleges in Clarion, PA, Slippery Rock, PA and Oklahoma. Glenn carried a passion and great extent of knowledge in arboriculture. This led to him being a Master Gardner and Tree Care expert. He once said, “I talk to the trees before I trim them, they need to know I am there to help them, not harm them”.

Glenn is survived by his four children, Robert (Jennifer) Young of Springfield, OR, Joyce (Chris) Peters of Eugene, OR, Sally (Scott) Sonek of Portland OR and Richard (Lisa) Young of San Jose, CA. Glenn is survived by 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. His surviving siblings include, Donald of Butler, PA, James, of Georgetown, GA, Paul of Rotonda West, FL and Ruth of North Port, FL. Four Aunts, Donna of PA, Loretta, Marsha and Nancy of Florida. Along with over 30 nieces and nephews. Glenn is proceeded in death by his parents Donald and Lina and four siblings, Charles, Earl, Susan and William.

Glenn’s ashes will be placed this summer at the Ryder Church Cemetery in Butler PA. Remembrances may be made at this time in the desired form by friends.

The family would like to thank Mr. Richard Lopez aka "Old Man #1" for being a wonderful neighbor and friend to Glenn. Miss Carrington and the staff at Hylands Place, for all the care and comfort these last few months.
