Fair warning, this is written by her kids lol!
Our amazing, brave, and caring mom passed away peacefully on March 8, 2017 after a six-month struggle with cancer.
She was born April 28, 1957 to Charles and Shirley Rich in Salt Lake City. She was the oldest of five children. She graduated from Hillcrest High in 1975.
She met her sexy husband, Gary, after high school. She didn't know if it was his "Barney Fife" charm or his '69 Camaro that drew her to him. Mom and Dad started their family in 1980 and had four PERFECT children, who were her whole world. She dedicated her life to her family, and always made sure the people in her life were happy and well taken care of.
She enjoyed her time working at John C. Fremont Elementary and Hunter High School, where she loved making a difference.
She was always sure to put a smile on everyone's face, while lighting up a room with her big smile and amazingly big heart. She was very passionate about everything she did, and loved helping others in every way possible.
Some of her favorite memories were spent at her second home at Bear Lake with the ones she loved, as well as the great times with family and close friends in the mountains above Gunnison.
Among the happiest moments were spending time with her seven grandkids, enjoying traveling with her mom and sister, riding bikes with our dad, bowling with our dad, Uncle Carl, and Aunt Liz; and playing golf with our dad and golfing partners, Nick and Charlene, which always ended up with a BBQ in the backyard with friends and family.
Her legacy lives on through her husband, Gary; four children, Angie (Mike) Voseipka, Mindy (Mike) Coles, Corey (Lennie) Broadwater, and Carly (Rockie) Gledhill; parents, Charles and Shirley Rich; siblings, Carl (Liz) Rich, Penny (Terry) Rasmussen, and Perry Rich; mother-in-law, Mary Lou Broadwater; sisters-in-law, Terri (Mark) Haslam and Chris (Steve) Beazer; many nieces and nephews; seven grandchildren; and countless friends. Reunited with her sister, Tina; father-in-law, Ron Broadwater; and nephew, Tyler Rasmussen.
We love you, Mom! Thank you for being the AC to Dad's DC and for always guiding us and going the extra mile.
