Masonic services conducted by Lufkin Masonic Lodge #669, A.F. & A.M. for Travis E. Stone, 84, of Lufkin, will be held in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel.

Travis was born July 9, 1932 in Lufkin, Texas to Travis H. and Vonie Stone. He passed away Friday, March 10, 2017 in Lufkin.

He was a thirty-seven year employee of Lufkin Industries and retired as a Production Superintendent. He was a lover of the outdoors and could often be found hunting with his family and friends. He was a thirty year member of the Lufkin Bass club and passed his love of hunting and fishing to his son Lonnie and his grandson Clint. Travis loved spending time with his kids and grandkids; they were the pride of his life. He was a talented gardener and cross pollinated daylilies to create new and interesting colors for his wife to enjoy.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Ruth Griffin Stone; daughter and son-in-law, Jody and Stanley Anderson; son, Lonnie Stone; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers, Herman and David Stone; and sister, Glenda Terrell, and their extended families; as well as niece, Carol Bell and husband Wayne; and nephew Josh Bell.

In addition to his parents, Travis was preceded in death by his brother, Delton Stone.
