Former Register of Deeds Dies In California.
Mrs. S. E. Wetmore, past 70, who served two terms as register of deeds of Nemaha county, the daughter of J. C. and Mary J. Hughes, Nemaha county pioneers, died Sunday morning at 2:10 at the home of her son, Loyal, in Oakland, California. She had been ill with a heart ailment for some time. She was the widow of Charles Wetmore, who helped his father Lewis Wetmore, build the Seneca high school building more than a half century ago. She is survived by four sons, George, LoyaL, Cyril and Clark Wetmore; six daughters, Mrs. Naomi Oren, Mrs. Fannie Nieberger, Mrs. Thelma Dickson, Mrs. Cecelia Naland, Abilene, Mrs. Vivian Amos, Seneca, and Mrs. Ethelyn Brammer, Knightstown, Indiana, and several grandchildren.

Mrs. Wetmore attended the Congregational church while living in Seneca. She inherited the old Hughes home on east Main street which she sold since leaving Seneca. Mrs. Vivian Amos, Seneca and Mrs. Cecelia Naland, Abilene, left Sunday evening to attend the funeral, to be held in California.
