Wade O'Kelly Martin passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2017, at the age of 93. He is survived by his wife of 71 years Marion Hofmann Martin; three children Sandra Martin (Karl Beier), Janice Schaff (David), and Wade Martin, Jr. (Gary Hitchcock); grandchildren Townes Wade Maxwell (Dr. Katie) and Dr. Maegen Schaff Vincent (Joseph); great-grandchildren Olivia Vincent and Evans Wade Maxwell, all of whom were the joy of his life. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Wade is preceded in death by his loving mother Esther O'Kelly Martin and father Laurence Wade Martin. Wade was a faithful parishioner of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.

He proudly served in the US Marine Corp. during World War II on various islands of the South Pacific and continued to serve during the Korean War. After the wars ended, he owned and operated Martin's Auto Aid to a loyal following in River Ridge for many years. He went on to enjoy a full and active life during his retirement. Wade will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, on Saturday, March 11, 2017 followed by a Mass to celebrate his life at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Metairie Cemetery.
