Born in Greenwood County, he was a son of Annie Lewis Quattlebaum Kirkland and the late James Hue Kirkland. Mr. Kirkland was a former employee of International Paper Company.
Surviving are his mother, Annie Lewis Quattlebaum Kirkland, two brothers, Jimmy Kirkland (Sherry) and Charles Kirkland both of Saluda and a sister, Caroline Kirkland of Saluda.
Mr. Kirkland was preceded in death by two brothers, Keith Kirkland and Bobby Dean Kirkland.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Friday evening at Amick Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church.
A Graveside Memorial service will be held 11:30 a.m., Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Gassaway United Methodist Church Cemetery.
