Debra Rigney “Peewee” Hankins, 57, of Rives Road, Martinsville, died Thursday, March 9, 2017 at home. She was born in Henry County on October 28, 1959, to David Rigney and Maebyrd Kendrick Rigney Bernard, both deceased. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Engel Hankins, and brothers, Benny, Jimmy and Ricky Rigney, as well as her step-father, Lewis Bernard.
“Peewee” is survived by a sister, Diane Rigney Coward and three brothers, Larry, Roger and Dennis Rigney; as well as numerous nieces and nephews; and special friend, Judy Tasker.
She attended Fuller Memorial Baptist Church.
A Graveside Service for Debra Hankins will be on Saturday, March 11, 2017, 2:00PM, at Mountain View Cemetery in Ridgeway. Visitation is from 1:00PM until 1:30PM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 730 East Church Street, Suite 13, Martinsville, Virginia 24112.
