Florence was born in Lumberton and was raised by her grandparents, Nelson and Marion Anderson. She was a graduate of Mount Holly High School, Class of 1941.
She was the wife of the late William, who passed away in 1973. Florence worked for Bell Telephone and was very active with her children in the Mount Holly Community. She also helped to start the first library at the John Brainerd School.
Florence moved to the Shreveport, La. area about 36 years ago.
Florence is survived by four children: Willa D. Moss (Bob) of Shreveport, Nelson Dickerson of Beebe, Ark., William E. Jr. (Sandy) of Virginia Beach, Va., and Nelda D. Aaronson (Mark) of Eastampton, N.J.; ten grandchildren: Jason, Bryan, Colby, Rachel, Christopher, Cara, Kelli, Lindsay, Holli, and Kyle; 14 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, at the Perinchief Chapels, 438 High Street, Mount Holly. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Lumberton. Friends may visit with the family from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
