He was the seventh child of ten children born to the late Belvet and Lucille Beck. Nine of these ten children preceded him in death. He married Lucille Sutton in Carthage, Texas. To this union two sons were born and one daughter Bonnie Sue who preceded him in death.
Rattle came to Odessa in 1946 from Carthage, Texas. He worked for Franklin's Department Store over 20 years where he retired in 1970.
