PAYETTE — Services for Leon LeRoy Douglass, 79, Payette, who died Monday in his home, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel of Payette, with the Rev. Jim Mummert of First Christian Church officiating. Interment, with military honors, will be in Riverside Cemetery.
Mr. Douglass was born June 4, 1888, in Farnhamville, Iowa. He moved to Fruitland with his parents as a boy. They homesteaded near Fruitland and he attended school in Payette. He served in the U.S. Army during a Mexican border incident before World War I and then served in France during the War. He married Lillie M. Milligan in Grangeville July 12, 1937.
He worked in an ordinance depot at Hermiston, Ore., until retirement in 1958. They then came to Payette. He was a member of Veterans of World War I, Payette Valley Barracks No. 338.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two sons, Ivan L. Milligan of Palermo, Calif. and Eldon J. Milligan of Guadalajara, Mexico; a daughter, Mrs. Violet Townley of Vale; Mrs. Florence D. Bartlett of Boise; and several nephews and nieces.
