Born in Harveys Lake, he was the son of the late Sterling W. and Beulah Keiper Kitchen.
David was an active member of Noxen Bible Baptist Church.
Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were his wife, Doris Wandel Kitchen; daughter, EmmaLou Belles; brothers, Walter and Emory Kitchen; and sister, Isabelle Traver.
Surviving are his daughter, Sue A. Johnson and husband, Jerry; and son, Daniel Kitchen, all of Dallas; brother, Louis Kitchen, and sister, Elizabeth DiEgidio, both of Philadelphia; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday from Harold C. Snowdon Funeral Home Inc., 140 N. Main St., Shavertown. Pastors Ben Hubble and Dennis Gray will co-officiate.
Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Harveys Lake.
