George H. Workman, age 80, of Dry Creek Road, Clearfield, passed away Monday, February 27, 2017, at his residence.

Born September 26, 1936, in Rowan County, he was a son of the late Van and Mary Mann Workman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Cecil and Virgil Workman, and six sisters, Elsie Marie Jones, Elizabeth Hayes, Isa Caskey, Phyllis Ingram, Eva Roberts, and Geneva Simpson.

He is survived by his wife, Dorlena Dillon Workman; two sons, Mark Workman and Joey Workman, both of Clearfield; one grandson, Jeremy Workman; one great grandson, Jace Workman; and several nieces and nephews.

George was a former truck driver for J.C. Wells Lumber Company and Allied Waste Management. He enjoyed coon hunting, fishing, and spending time with family.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, March 3, 2017, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Bro. Herbert D. Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in Dillon Cemetery on Dry Creek.

Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.


Visitation is after 5 p.m. Thursday, March 2, 2017, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
