He had been in his usual health and death was unexpected.
Chris was born Thursday, July 6, 1989 in Elkins, a son of the later Bruce Vance and Connie Smith Vance.
Left to cherish his memory are two aunts, Connie Cottrell and Susie Lambert and husband Richard, several nieces, nephews and cousins, three half sisters, Sherry and Kimberly Butcher and Shaelan Studder and his biological father, Terry Butcher.
Preceding Chris in death besides his parents were two uncles, Michael Butcher and Kenneth Butcher Jr.
Chris was a 2008 graduate of Harman High School.
He enjoyed playing basketball and riding motorcycles and four wheelers.
In 2010, Chris was in a horrific automobile accident where the entire left side of his body was impaled by a wooden fence post.
Despite the grim outlook given by his doctors, Chris fought hard and proved them wrong.
Following the accident, Chris enjoyed playing video games, fishing and bowling.
One of his favorite things to do was listen to his music.
He had a huge heart, was so full of life and will be missed by all who knew him.
Visitation will be a the Randolph Funeral Home Friday, March 10, 2017 from 11A-Noon, the funeral hour.
Rev. Eli Hostetler will officiate and interment will follow in Smith Family Cemetery in Job.
