Roy Elmer “Junior” James, 71, Warrensburg, MO, formerly of Harrisonville, MO, died Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at the Missouri Veterans Home in Warrensburg. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 12, 2016 at Orient Cemetery in Harrisonville. Visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Sunday at Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville. Roy was born September 23, 1945 in Kansas City, MO, the son of Roy Elmer and Hazel Lorene (McElroy) James, Sr. He was a 1963 graduate of Harrisonville High School and was a U. S. Navy veteran serving during the Vietnam war. Roy worked for the Claycomo Ford plant for 15 years. He had lived in Harrisonville before moving to Warrensburg in 2002. Roy was preceded in death by his sister, Goldie Faught. He is survived by one son, Chris James, Overland Park, KS and one daughter, Melissa James, both of Overland Park, KS; one brother, Lawrence James, Kansas City, MO; two sisters, Patty Winchel, Peculiar, MO and Kay James, Harrisonville, MO, and 2 grandchildren, Parker and Brooklyn. The family of Roy James would like to thank the staff at the Missouri Veterans Home in Warrensburg for all their loving care.
