Jessie was a member of Freedom Ministries Church in Claypool Hill, VA, a member of the UMWA and had worked thirty-three years in the mines. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, watching the humming birds, and most of all, he loved spending time with his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters, Sue Darnell and two infant sisters; brothers, Ellis, Auty, James and two infant brothers; and a his canine friend, Ginger.
Survivors include his loving wife of fifty-three years, Juanita Revonda Ratliff Bartley of Keen, Mtn, VA; daughters, Mary Bartley of Keen, Mountain, VA, Brenda Bartley and Linda Bartley both of Keen Mountain, VA; son, Kenneth Bartley and wife Anna of Keen, Mountain, VA; sister, Clemia Jean Dales of Bristol, VA.
He is also survived by his grandchildren, Courtney Bartley, Shanna Stevens and husband Daniel, his canine friend Little Bit and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service for Mr. Jessie Stanford Bartley will be conducted on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the Shortridge-Ramey Funeral Home Chapel of Keen Mountain, VA with Pastor Mickey Hale and Brother Roger Null officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenhills Memory Gardens in Claypool Hill, VA.
Active pallbearers will be Harold Musick, Jerry Raines, Daniel Stevens, Gary Elswick, Charles Bartley, and David Reedy.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday at 6:00 p.m. with evening services beginning at 7:00 p.m.
