Daniel A. Morrison Jr. passed away at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital on March 8, 2017. He was 86 years of age. Dan was born in Everett to the late Daniel & Florence (Wromsley) Morrison, he was raised in Everett and graduated from Everett High School, Class of 1949. Mr. Morrison entered the US Marines while attending Bentley College, he served his country with pride during the Korean War and after his discharge he returned to Bentley College to finish his degree. He worked as an accountant for Arthur D. Little, an auditor at Jordan Marsh Company and the as a wholesale distributor for a grocery warehouse management company: Cressey0Dockham Company for over 25 years. Mr. Morrison was a hard working family man, had a passion for Everett High School Football, a Boston sports fan but did support Melrose High Football when his grandsons were playing. Dan has been a Melrose resident for 49 years, enjoyed working in his garden, doing puzzles and liked taking trios to the White Mountains in New Hampshire. Mr. Morrison was the beloved husband of 65 years to Barbara (Sheridan) Morrison. Loving father of Linda M. Rosatone & her husband Luigi of Everett, Daniel J. Morrison & his wife Geri of NY, Susan E. Waldron & her husband David of Newburyport and Nancy E. Williams & her husband Jim of Melrose. Brother of Beatrice L. Cummings & the late Nancy Sullivan. Also survived by 14 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren & numerous nieces & nephews. Visitation will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Sunday March 12, 2017 from 2:00-5:00PM. Followed by a funeral service at the funeral home on Monday at 10:00AM. Interment with military honors at Wyoming Cemetery in Melrose. Relatives & friends are respectfully invited to attend.
