Charles Ervin “Sonny” Waller entered his Lord’s presence on February 24, 2017, in Atlanta, Georgia.

Mr. Waller was born April 29, 1937, in Dublin, GA to Lonnie and Jewell Huffman Waller. He grew up in Nashville, Georgia, where he met his wife, Mary Anne Sims Waller. They were married May 19, 1963 in Nashville. After graduating from high school, he attended Georgia Southwestern College and joined the Air Force. He was employed in sales for many years, managing the family hardware store and travelling through South Georgia and Florida. He enjoyed music, serving in his church, and being involved with the Gideons. He also enjoyed fishing and watching his Georgia Bulldogs. His fondest memories include time spent with his life-long best friend, Skeet Parrish of Vidalia.

Mr. Waller is survived by his daughter Sarah Ellen (Greg) Foster of Lawrenceville, GA, granddaughter Leah (Phillip) Chapman of Mesquite, TX, and grandson Andrew Foster of Lawrenceville, GA. He is also survived by his nieces Debbie (James) Griner and Donna (Walter) Clary as well as his wife’s nieces and nephew: Cindy (Tim) Austin, Karen Roberts, Kathy (Ronnie) Tillman, and Tim (Sabrina) Taylor. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter Natalie Saleh, and sister Anne Bennett Bartholomew.

A service in Mr. Waller’s memory will be held Saturday, March 11, 2017 in the Vidalia First United Methodist Church at 2:00 PM with the Reverend David Blalock officiating. A visitation with the family will be held prior to the service in the sanctuary at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorial gifts to the Gideons International (http://www.sendtheword.org/all-cards.aspx) or to Burns Memorial UMC, 2372 Lumpkin Road, Augusta, Ga. 30906.
