Mr. Daniel Cowell Vogler, age 67, of Mount Airy passed away Wednesday, March 8, 2017, at his home.

Mr. Vogler was born in Surry County to the late Jack Cowell and Bessie Viola Atkins Vogler.

He was a very special brother as well as a loving father and a friend to all who knew him.

Mr. Vogler also served in the National Guard before he was honorably discharged.

He graduated from Surry Community College with an electronics degree.

Mr. Vogler worked for AMP, Inc./Tyco as a manufacturing engineer, beginning in 1978 and worked there until his retirement in 2011.

Left to cherish his memories are three daughters and son-in-law: Kimberly Vogler Edwards and husband Brad, Ashley Vogler Ward, Kristi Vogler Arrington; seven grandchildren: Addison Edwards, Keaton Ward, Nicholas Clougher Jr., Taylor Vogler, Kloie Simmons, Kaden Arrington, Davyn Arrington; three sisters and brothers–in-law: Susan and Clark Goings, Mary Ruth and Tom Kirkham, Jackie Morgan; and a very special friend, Jean Linville.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Vogler was preceded in death by his brother, Garland Ray Vogler.

Funeral Services will be held 4 p.m. Sunday, March 12, 2017, at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy with Bishop John Bradley and Mr. Moses Massey officiating. Interment will follow in the James Monroe Hiatt Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
