Florence Aurelia Arnold (nee Huber) of Mildmay, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2009 in her 83rd year. Beloved wife of 64 years of marriage to John Peter Arnold.

Cherished mother of Betty Lou (Robert) Borho of Waterloo, Gerald (Joan) Arnold of Mildmay, Mary Anne (Douglas) Murray of Calgary, Allan (Beverly) Arnold of Bloomingdale, Marlene (Richard) Borho of Kitchener, Marilyn (Charles) Meyer of Mildmay, Joan (Michael) Haelzle of Mildmay.

Dear grandmother of Michelle (Steve) Harris, Laura (Michael) Haffner, Sherri and Kimberley Borho, all of Waterloo, Sheila Arnold (Robert Schnurr) of Mildmay, Tammy (Cameron) Hickling of Hanover and Michael Arnold of Olds, Alberta, Meaghan Murray of Calgary, Amanda Arnold of Kitchener, Erin (Todd) Weinstein, Craig (Stephanie) Borho, Chad, Kerry and Kristen Borho all of Kitchener, Kristie (Darby) O’Hagan of Kincardine, Lindsay and Jennifer Meyer of Mildmay, Jeff, Kelly, Heather and Jamie Haelzle of Mildmay.

Special great-grandmother to Kaitlin and Matthew Haffner, Sarah and Allison Harris, Jordan, Brett, Caleb and Connor Schnurr, Morgan, Madison and McKenna Hickling, Treyton and Tyson Weinstein.

Survived by brothers and sisters Madeline (Gordon) Steffler of Hanover, Anna Strauss of Maryhill, Josephine (Peter) Mitchell of Brantford, Albinus (Patricia) Huber of Mildmay, Geraldine Weiss of Severn Bridge, Melvin Huber (friend Judy) of Formosa and brother-in-law Clarence (Barb) Arnold of St. Jacob’s. Also fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.

Pre-deceased by her parents Seraphine and Olivia (Bohnert) Huber, her brother Linus Huber; sister-in-law Helen Huber; brothers-in-law Linus Strauss and Robert Weiss.

Florence was a life-long member of Sacred Heart R.C. Church and the Catholic Women’s League. She was actively involved in many organizations in the community. She inspired others by her example, determination and faithfulness. Her special personality shone among the many friends to whom she touched. Her reward was the love and trust of her family, the respect of close friends and the personal contentment that comes from knowing she always did her best.

Florence’s family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, June 3 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. a the Cameron Funeral Home, Walkerton with parish prayers at 8:45 p.m. Prayers will be offered in the funeral home on Thursday morning followed by a procession to Sacred Heart Church, Mildmay for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. with Father Terry Sehl as celebrant. Interment in Sacred Heart R.C. Cemetery, Mildmay.

As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Sacred Heart Building Fund, Heart and Stroke Foundation or the charity of your choice.
