Larry Dugon Fruge, 77, of Fayetteville, Texas passed away on Sunday, July 3, 2016, at Baylor Scott & White in College Station.

Larry, son of Ernest and Agnes (Bertrand) Fruge, was born July 31, 1938, in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Larry married Waldine Helen Meyer, August 23, 1958, in Columbus, Texas.

Larry served in the U.S. Air Force and was a resident of Fayetteville, Texas at the time of his passing. He retired as a Supervisor for Gulf Oil Company (Chevron) in 1992 after 30 years of dedicated service.

Larry was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, who cherished family gatherings. A two-time cancer survivor who inspired us all in his never ending belief and trust in God. He was a member of Saint John's Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus (4th degree member), Shelby American Legion, and helped many people around the area. He loved to talk to people and never met a stranger. He never told a person that he couldn't help them.

Larry is survived by his wife of 57 years, Waldine; son, Michael Wayne Fruge and wife, Jodi, of Spicewood; son, Brian Fruge of Houston; daughter, Cheryl Lynn Hall and husband, Mike, of Mont Belvieu; son, Dwight David Fruge and wife, Sherri, of Richmond; daughter, Allison Fay Thomas and husband, Ron, of Baytown; sister, Barbara Hohensee and husband, Chick; brother, Wayne Fruge and wife, Grace; brother, Ernest Fruge, Jr. and wife, Jane, all of Fayetteville; ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Laura Bolton; and grandchild, Ashley Broussard.

Funeral Services will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 205 E. Bell St., Fayetteville at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 7, 2016. Burial will follow at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery.
