PFC Harvey Richard McCuiston, Vietnam Veteran, Native of Advance, NC.

Private First Class Harvey Richard McCuiston was a casualty of the Vietnam War. As a member of the Army, PFC McCuiston served our country until August 19th, 1969 in Quang Nam, South Vietnam. He was 19 years old and was not married. It was reported that Harvey died from small arms fire. His body was recovered. Harvey was born on February 16th, 1950 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. PFC Mc Cuiston is on panel 19W, line 072 of the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington D.C. He served our country for less than a year.

The VFW Post # 9010 in Clemmons, NC shares his name and two fellow Davie County soldiers who were KIA. It's the Brewer-Lowder-McCuiston VFW Post.

He was the son of Mr and Mrs Jackson H McCuiston, Route #1, Advance, NC.

He served with Alpha Company, 3rd Battalion, 21st Infantry Regiment, 196th Infantry Brigade, USARV.

He was awarded The Combat Infantryman's Badge(CIB), The Purple Heart Medal for his combat related wounds, the Vietnam Service Medal, The Republic of Vietnam Campaign Service Medal, The National Defense Service Medal.
