Norman F. Decker, 85, of Phoenix, Arizona peacefully passed away on March 7, 2017. He was born and raised in Syracuse, New York.

He was a Korean War Veteran and was very active in all the communities where he lived.

Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Catalina Guerrero Decker, where he met while stationed at Davis Montham AFB in Tucson, Arizona, to whom he was married to for 63 yrs; brothers Jack Decker, Richard Decker and James Decker; sisters Dawn Mallette and Joanne Litz.

He is survived by his six children, Debra Decker, Tim Decker, Dawn Decker Fuller, Todd Decker, Dede Van Houten, Christine Decker-Zaso; son’s in laws Jeff Fuller, Richard Zaso, Jim Van Houten; daughter in law, Amy Decker; eight grandchildren, Joey Dolen, Adrianne Decker, Anna Decker, Colton Decker, Jillian Decker, Kate Decker, Marshall Sooter and Jesse Van Houten.

During his life Norman was involved in the Kedar Khan Grotto in Syracuse; VFW, American Legion, in Phoenix, Arizona; belonged to the Thunder Mountain Moose Lodge in Tucson, Arizona and a member of the Free Mason’s.

Norman was known to his friends as “Norm”, “Storman Norman” or “Decker. He was quick witted, very friendly to anyone and would like to be remembered as a man who loved his wife, family and friends.

A full Military Honors’ Service will be held at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, April 28, 2017 at 2:30 pm
