June Rose Barger Snead was born June 29, 1934 in Albany, Missouri to William F. “Ted” and Daphane Ruth (Clouse) Barger and Died March 5, 2017 surrounded by family and friends at the age of 82 years, 8 months and 6 days.

June gave her life to the Lord at an early age. She attended church in many locations as she grew up and later married and traveled. She was currently a member of the Albany First Christian Church.

June attended school at Carmack, New Hampton and Albany. June and T.J. were married at 16 and 19 years old, respectively. Through hard work and perseverance, June received her GED in 1975 to advance her career at Fairfax County. Her family was very proud of this accomplishment.

On May 25, 1951 June married Thomas Jefferson (T.J. or Tom) at Denver, Missouri. To this union were born five children: Teresa Gail, Terent Allen, Terean Bethlyn, Timothy J and Tracy Barger.

T.J. joined the U. S. Army just before they were married and thus began the travels of the Snead Family. T.J. was stationed in California, Korea, Panama, Greenland, Georgia, Kansas, Hawai’i, Georgia (again) New Jersey and Virginia. T.J. and June made sure that their children saw as much of the United States (and some of Canada) while going from place to place, stopping at state capitals, many parks and numerous sites of interest along the way. When the family could not go with T.J. they returned to Albany, Missouri for a year or so.

June had many chores as a youngster around the house. She later worked for Montgomery Ward & Co. in the credit department. June retired from the Office of Assessments of Fairfax County, Virginia. In the spring of 1997 T.J. and June retired from their jobs and returned back to their roots in Albany and surrounding areas. While in Albany they enjoyed walks around town and re-aquainting with friends and relatives.

June was preceded in death by T.J., her beloved husband of 58 years, her son Timothy J, parents, sister Bessie (Parmen), brothers Richard, Gary and Teddy, and sister-in-law Victoria (Snead) Allen.
