Funeral services for Helen Ruth Goodwin, 90, of Austin, formerly of Cedar Creek Lake, are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 11, 2017, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point with Pastor Rod Minor officiating.
Interment at Myrtle Springs Cemetery.
She passed away early Monday morning, March 6, 2017, in Austin.
Helen was born September 11, 1926, in Canton, Texas, the daughter of Willie Jefferson Lovelady and Jewel Motsenbocker Lovelady.
She was raised in the Canton and Myrtle Springs area and graduated from Wills Point High School in 1944. On October 25, 1947, she married Thomas Earl Goodwin.
Helen was employed by Reserve Life Insurance Company for thirty-three years as manager/secretary, retiring in 1990. She enjoyed cooking and traveling. She lived at Cedar Creek Lake prior to moving to Austin in 2000. Helen was a member of the Red Hat Society and Anderson Mill Baptist Church in Austin.
Preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Jewel Lovelady; husband, Thomas Earl Goodwin on January 18, 2012; brother, Billy Nolan Lovelady in 1980 and a sister, Juanita Lovelady in 1932.
Helen is survived by her son, Michael Goodwin & wife, Karen, of Austin; daughter, Marilyn Lewis, of Ft. Worth; brother, James Lovelady & wife, Dot, of Richardson; four grandchildren, Kristin Hawkins, Katie Lewis, Jamie Haywood and Melissa Langdon and five great-grandchildren, Amy Hawkins, Lindy Langdon, Aiden Langdon, Zoe Langdon and Madison Haywood.
