Funeral services for Clara Blackman George Courtney will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, March 8, 2017 in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. Rev. James De’l George and Rev. Bobby King will be officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Vernon Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.
Mrs. Courtney was born August 31, 1914 in Florala, AL and passed away March 6, 2017 in West Monroe. She was preceded in death by her son, Hansford “Buddy” George; husbands, Seymon George and Oliver Courtney; granddaughter; Barbara Dianne George.
Mrs. Courtney is survived by her children; Mildred Carter, Aline Carter , Douglas George, Betty Christy and husband Gary ; 16 grandchildren numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Doug George, Daniel “Buddy” George, Daren George, Marvin Carter, Robert Carter, Eddie Wayne Carter.
Honorary pallbearers will be Charles “Hobo” Carter, Josey George, Ashton Coughran, Christian Collins.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 8, 2017 from 9:00 AM until service time at Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.
