Edwin's obituary was shared by the funeral home:

"Mr. Edwin C. Philbeck, 79, of Mooresboro, went home to be with the Lord on March 6, 2017.

A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of Brisco Morgan Philbeck and Gladys Eve Lovelace Philbeck.

He was a loom fixer for Esther Mills for over 40 years, was a member of Goodes Grove Baptist Church and a veteran of the United States Army.

Mr. Philbeck was an avid Atlanta Braves fan, loved dancing and had a passion for music having played for various radio and TV shows, The Arthur Smith Show being his favorite.

He is survived by his loving daughter, Kimberly P. Wood (Bobby); long-time companion, Carolyn Jolley; brother, Wade Philbeck; grandchildren, Jennifer Wood, Taylor Dawson, Jordan Dawson and Morgan Dawson; and by a life-long friend, Walt Kale.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Robin Philbeck Dawson; brothers, Hubert, Hewitt, Morris and Max Philbeck; and sisters, Jenny Thompson, Avis Street, Vertie Dellinger and Doris Philbeck.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 from 6:00 Pm until 8:00 PM at Eggers Funeral Home of Cliffside. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, March 9, 2017 at 12:00 PM at Goodes Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Hensley officiating.

Burial will follow in Cleveland Memorial Park with military honors.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to Goodes Grove Baptist Church.

The family will be at the home during this time.
