Robert F. Bunting Jr., a loving husband and father, passed away peacefully on a rainy afternoon on March 6th surrounded by his loving family. He was born to the late Robert Sr. and Elizabeth Bunting on September 11, 1944 in Fort Wayne, IN. Robert served in the Army in 1961-1964 and earned the rank of Spec 4. He met his dream girl on a blind date in October 1964, fell in love immediately, got married and had six wonderful children. He loved wood working, muscle cars, jazz music, trains and his beautiful grandchildren. Because of him his family will always have a special bond through music and his sense of humor. He is survived by his wife Peggy; sons Bill (Julie) Bunting, Jeff (Melissa) Bunting and Thom (Rachael) Bunting; daughters Angi (Darrel) Bice, Jenny (Shannon) Branscomb and Amy (Matt) Gindhart; brothers Dean and John; sister Robin Phillips; step mom Janiece Bunting and 11 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his brother Keith. Funeral service will be at C.M. Sloan and Sons Funeral Home 1327 N Wells St. on Friday March 10, 2017 at 11 am with calling 1 hour prior. Calling will be on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Burial at Catholic Cemetery.
