Our beloved mother, Audrienne Marilyn Atchley Fiala, left this mortal life to join her Heavenly Father and her parents, Shelby and Edna Atchley, on February 24, 2017.

She left behind her eternal sweetheart, Monte J Fiala (married on June 30, 1959) and her four girls, Kristine (Michael) Moore, St Louis, MO, Carolyn (Dave) Westergard, Boise, Jan (Tom) Hunt, Twin Falls, and Julie (Rob) Blackmore, Boise. Our dad has always said that marrying mom was the best thing he ever did in life.

Marilyn will also be missed by her older sister, Ardys Curtis, and her older brother, Hugh (Sylvia) Atchley, both of Boise.

Grandson Cole said that Grandma Marilyn was a "stellar grandma" to all of her grandchildren: Jessica (Clint) Merrell, great-grandma to Jared, Blake and Brooklyn Merrell, UT, grandma to Katelyn Westergard, TN, Audrey (Nate) McMurray, MN, Kristine Westergard, Idaho, Ethan (Carly) Moore, UT, Darcy Moore, UT, Devin Moore, WA, Andrea Moore, UT, Dallas Hunt, UT, Cole Hunt, Houston, TX Mission, and Sam Hunt, Twin Falls. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews that she dearly loved.

Mom was witty, intelligent, kind, loving and caring – she was a true light to her family. Education was very important to her. She started her university studies at Boise Junior College, and graduated from Brigham Young University. After obtaining her degree, she taught second grade in Utah. She was also an incredible musician and loved playing the piano – in church, duets with her daughters and granddaughters, for weddings and funerals, and in the evenings after tucking us in for the night. There was nothing she could not play, from the classics of Liszt and Chopin to the pop of Carousel and other Broadway musicals.
Marilyn was very active in her church and had many wonderful friends throughout her life. She was a great listener and was always interested in other people. Mom loved her grandchildren and her little great grandchildren, had a real sweet tooth, and enjoyed shopping, sewing, reading and walking laps.
Mom was a gift to us, and the caring staff at her memory care unit and hospice providers were a gift to her. We are grateful for all the staff that loved and cared for her the past few years. Our hearts and prayers are with all families that experience the sorrow of the Alzheimer's journey.
Mom, we will always love you and will miss you until we meet again.
Love from your daughters.
A funeral will be held at 12:00 on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Bowman Funeral Home, located at 10254 W Carlton Bay Drive, in Boise. A viewing will be held prior to the service from 11:00 to 11:45.
