Earl L. Clester, 85, of Huntington, IN, and formerly of Marion, IN, passed away at his residence on Monday, March 6, 2016, at 4:00 a.m.
Mr. Clester was born September 12, 1931, in Marion, IN to Ralph and Georgianna (Neal) Clester. His parents preceded him in death.

Earl graduated from Marion High School. He served in the United States Navy and was stationed in Korea during the Korean War. Earl worked many years and retired from Fisher Body as a steel purchaser. He was a member of the Moose Lodge, Marion, IN, and enjoyed golfing for many years and had been a member of Shady Hills Country Club and Meshingomesia Golf Course both in Marion, IN. Earl enjoyed and loved his two dogs, Duke and Dixie. He also enjoyed time with his two daughters and his grandchildren. Earl was always thinking and loved to invent things and enjoyed doing woodworking as well.

Earl is survived by two daughters, Melissa (Erik) Strass, Shelley McCutcheon, both of Huntington, IN; one brother, Rolland (Eldiva) Clester, Marion, IN; and one sister, Sandy (Howard) McFarren, Nappanee, IN. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Ralph Clester, Harold Clester, Dean Clester; and three sisters, Donna Clester, Patty Davis and Beverly Hudson.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 9, 2017, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN.
