Billy Joe Bales of Chattanooga died Saturday, Aug. 24, 2002, in a local hospital.
He was of the Church of God faith. He worked as a self-employed carpenter.
He was preceded in death by one son, Johnny A. Bales; one brother, Cecil Bales; one sister, Sandra Ann Hutton; and his father and mother.
He is survived by his wife, Hazel Sue Bales of Chattanooga; three sons; two daughters; five brothers, Ronald, Jerry, Jimmy, Bobby and Clyde Bales, all of Chattanooga; four sisters, Juanita Cranford of Utah, Patsey Marshall of Hixson, Virginia Almond and Hazel Hawkins, both of Rossville, Ga.; eight grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. in the Highway 58 chapel of Turner Funeral Homes with the Rev. Kenneth Bales officiating.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 2-9 p.m. and Monday from 2-9 p.m. and Tuesday until the time of services.
Turner Funeral Home at Highway 58 and Webb Road is in charge of arrangements.
