ARAPAHOE, Neb. -- Clarice Helen Schievelbein, 90, of Arapahoe, died Sunday (March 5, 2017), at C.A. Mues Good Samaritan Center in Arapahoe.

She was born Feb. 2, 1927, in Frontier County, Neb., to Raymond and Louise Esther (Niederberger) Debban. She taught school for about two years at Rural District No. 40 west of Bertrand, Neb., and then attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, Neb. She married Glen W. Schievelbein on Aug. 17, 1947, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Bertrand, Neb.

She worked at C.A. Mues Good Samaritan Center in the dietary department and at Arapahoe Public Schools from 1969-1997 as a teacher's aide, media specialist, secretary and librarian.

She was a member of Arapahoe's Immanuel Lutheran Church and later, of Trinity Lutheran Church of Arapahoe.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her children's father, Glen; special friend, Edward Lollman; brothers-in-law, Carroll Schumacher and Willis Holscher; and two great-granddaughters, Brooke and Jenna Sickels.

Survivors include children, Alan Schievelbein and wife, Sherry, Greg Schievelbein and wife, Patti, all of Arapahoe, Carla Voss and husband, Duane and Gayla Hasenkamp and husband Gene, Cambridge, Neb.; sisters, Alice Holscher of Kearney, Neb., and Corrine Schumacher of Virginia; sister-in-law, Leona Schievelbein of Arapahoe; 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Visitation is Wednesday, March 8, 2017, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Wenburg Funeral Chapel, 652 Main Street in Arapahoe, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m.

Funeral services are Thursday, March 8, 2017, 10:30 a.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church of Arapahoe, with Rev. James Moshier officiating. Interment will be at the Arapahoe Cemetery.
