David E. Bacon Sr., age 70, of Toledo passed away in his home on Sunday, March 5, 2017. He was born in December 17, 1946 on Toledo to Timothy and Gladys (Roloff) Bacon. David graduated from Waite High School in 1964.
He proudly served as an MP in Korea on the DMZ in the 1960's. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army with the rank of sergeant.
David retired after 40 years with the Toledo Edison. He was strongly committed to IBEW Local 245. He served as Assistant Business Agent from 1984-1987 and later Business Agent from 1990-1996.
In his younger years, David was an avid softball player and golfer. In his retirement, he loved to fish with his brother. He was a dedicated caregiver for his family in times of need. David was s member of Grace Lutheran Church in Toledo.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Timothy and Gladys and his sister, Pamela Navarre.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Lynn; children, Dana and David (Heather); and bother, Bruce Bacon. He was also the proud grandfather of 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at the Foth-Dorfmeyer Mortuary, 3815 Sylvania Ave. (at Woodley Rd.) on Thursday from 2-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:30 a.m. from Grace Lutheran Church, 4441 Monroe St., with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
